How We Make Our Handmade Vegan Soap
At Siam Saboo, we take pride in producing high-quality vegan soap products that you’ll love using. Our mission is to provide you with an all-natural skincare alternative that’s completely safe and makes your skin feel clean and refreshed. That’s why we use the hot process method to create our soaps.
What is the hot process method?
The hot process method for soap-making involves slow-cooking a blend of organic materials. This method creates a 100% organic and chemical-free soap if it's done right, as we do here at Siam Saboo!
While the soap mixture cooks, soap ingredients heat from the outside in. After the mixture finishes cooking, we add essential oils and botanicals to preserve the nutritional oil properties.
Then, we place the soap into the mold for 24-48 hours before cutting it. Once it’s cut, we let it harden for 1-2 weeks before packaging it. This time for the soap to set and harden ensures that you receive a long-lasting, high-quality vegan soap product.

Is hot processed soap better?
Yes! If the hot process method is done the right way, this method is best. It takes a lot of work, time, and care. This is why you want to make sure you purchase your hot processed, vegan soap from a high-quality soap maker.
When the hot process method is done right, lye (a sodium hydroxide used in soap) completely evaporates. This is what we want since lye can cause skin irritation if it remains present in the soap. While the cold process method can also create great soaps, this process does require a longer cure time to ensure the lye fully evaporates.
For each and every batch of soap we make at Siam Saboo, we test pH levels to ensure all lye has evaporated and that our soaps are completely safe for you to use!
Why use hot processed soap?
The hot process method allows us to preserve the benefits of natural ingredients. Because all essential oils, fruit purees, and herbal juices are added to the soap mixture after the chemical reaction is finished, all the great things that give you hydrated, refreshed, and clean skin stays in the soap. Best of all, this also allows Siam Saboo to create a variety of soaps so that you can choose the perfect one based on your skin type and soap preferences.
